Sudanese American Friendship Association (S.A.F.A.)
An organization working in the field of public diplomacy, founded in 1990 as one of the components of the Council for International People’s Friendship of the Sudanese Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. The council includes dozens of friendship associations from all over the world, forming with each other a broad and effective range of public diplomacy with its diverse and rich activities
Message (Mission)
Maintain bridges between Sudanese and American people in all domains, regardless of the situation of political relations
Legal Form
Although individuals’ contribution to SAFA’s activity is voluntary, the Sudanese American Friendship Association is registered and officially accredited by four authorities:
– Council for International People’s Friendship of the Sudanese Ministry of Cabinet Affairs
– US Embassy in Khartoum
– Sudanese Embassy in Washington
– Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs
S.A.F.A. Structure
The association consists of a diverse board of trustees that periodically elects a president and an executive board. In January 2021 the association had held, long-awaited, elections to choose a new executive board. Thankfully, the process was carried out according to high standards and was accepted and fully approved to produce the current 2021-2025 leadership structures.
